Have you ever contemplated those words? "I want you. I choose you." What if you said that to a little orphan? What if you said that to your own child? What if you said that to the homeless man on the street or the grandma in a nursing home?
The significance of those words is tremendous. They can change a life in just three short seconds.
Jesus says that to us. He looks at us in our ugly, deformed, sinful state and says, "I wish you were Mine." And, that little whisper is what brings us to his cross where our gift of salvation waits for the taking. He didn't just die for not purpose. He didn't stay in the tomb. He rose for us. And, He pursued us until that still small voice whispered the words across the wind. The melody of Jesus' song revolves around inadequate, filthy, rotten sinners, like me. He doesn't sing about our blinded hearts. He doesn't sing about our evil deeds. Instead, He sings of grace. And, His refreshing words float to our hearts.
"I wish you were Mine."
I am His. I accepted His gift of glorious salvation. Have you?
If you have, whisper those words to someone who hasn't heard them in a while. See what happens...
