would you prefer?

home-made benches or cushion-y seats?

paper song books or overhead projectors?

coffee and water or just sunshine to drink in?

outdoor air or air conditioner?

I think we take a lot of things for granted. I think we enjoy all the "flashy" things of life without even flinching. What if your church service tomorrow was in a simple village church? The benches are made of rough wood, there is no air conditioning or heat. The songs are on little paper books and there is no electricity. Would you be able to worship? Or would you act as if you deserved everything the church didn't have and walk out?

I've been thinking the past few hours about the times in which I was able to worship in the most glorious way. Those times, honestly, did not have all the expensive, fancy things that most people today feel necessary for worship. Instead, a few of those times were in a little village, singing in a language that I only knew how to sight read, not understand. Other times have been in a little college's cafeteria, where I spent every chapel day singing and worshipping God with all of my heart. The things that mattered were the words I was singing, the people worshipping WITH me, and the meaning of it all.

It was for God. It still IS for God. It always will be for God. So, while others whine about whether the coffee is cold or the music was off key, I choose to sing as I did in that little village church and that little college cafeteria.

On another note, the next few weeks, I am going to be asking God to answer some specific prayers in a specific timing. I'll let you know what happens... I believe He can do anything.

This weekend was the first weekend since BEFORE Christmas that we had NOTHING required of us to do. We didn't drive anywhere (I'm tired of road trips for the moment). Neither of us had to work (Yay!). We just hung out together, watching movies, playing video games, and eating whatever. it was.... relaxing and beautiful.

here's to good, meaningful worship. Prayers that are always answered. and weekends with nothing important to do... hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus... for everything.
