are you a king?

hello.

I'm here...I really am. These fingers that type what my brain has to say are still attached. I just haven't had enough time at a computer to write long things. I just haven't had the brain power to think of good things to say.

but, I'm back. maybe. i think...

regardless, I think that you should know that my sweet husband has the attention span of a squirrel.I mean, he's always wanted one for a pet, so I guess it all makes sense now. I love him for his squirrel-like attention span. I can focus for so long on one thing.... and then tell him all about it for what probably seems like forever to him. I think he listens for 5.2 seconds and then is looking at the groundhog or cute woodpeckers out our front window. He makes me think about how to phrase my stories into shorter ones  that don't take 5 years to tell. i love him.

On another note, there's a little boy in our Jr. Church class that we are currently teaching who makes my smile. He's 12, technically old enough to sit through church, but they let him go to Jr. Church anyway. He has this brain... like we all do, only his makes my day. He comes out with statements that require much thought allll the time. Except, he doesn't even have to think about most of the comments. Like, the other Sunday, I was trying to explain to him that he needed to obey and be an example, especially since he is 12 and the oldest one there. He replied, "You're right. I should be an example to everyone. You know, I feel like I'm the king of all here, since I'm so much older than them all. They all have to look to me!"

hahaha... I laughed, naturally. But, then went on to explain that Jesus is the King of all. He is who we ALL should follow. He understood.Thankfully!
'
But, aren't we all like that?! We walk around with an heir of "royalty" around us. We don't think that we have to answer to anyone. In fact... we think that everyone else should do what WE want. We all do it. We all pretend to be kings and queens.

What if we pretended to be princes and princesses?! Because, Jesus Christ is our beautiful King. Like the Pied Piper who leads away children that are not paying attention to the warnings of their parents are we who think we are worthy of kingship. We aren't. Satan's lying to us.

Submit to THE King. It will make your life a whole lot better once you do. For, submitting and bending  down low in humility will make your life ten million times richer. harder. sweatier. tougher. but blessedly richer!
