Woah! Life may be on fast forward at the moment. It's already Saturday... my brain is still back in last Saturday's festivities.

In the next week I will see cousins I haven't seen since July... on I haven't seen since my wedding. I will see my beloved sister and her beloved husband. they are the best. really. I can't wait to sing in my car really loud with Paige and just be with them. Then... of course.... it's CHRISTMAS! My very favorite day of the year... well, I have several favorite days of the year, actually. Anyway, this week will be the best. Not to mention I still have two younger siblings that make the magic of Christmas even better. I don't know about you, but I certainly still believe in Santa...

I'm compelled to wake up. I am fighting the shadows of this life. They are not who I am in Jesus Christ. I do not swell in muck and mire, fear or pain. There are no secrets with Jesus. He loves me. I am His. I am a child of Light- a child of the day! Not the night. And I praise sweet Jesus for the opportunity to live for Him. I praise Him for where He has me. I praise Him for molding me. every. single. day. It's all that matters. It's all that I want to live for.

This: I am a child of light. I am awake, ready to conquer for Jesus' name. It's my purpose.

We are the light, so let Your light shine brighter. Jesus, You are the light, we will lift You high and shine."

This Christmas, sweet Lord... in the midst of all the present opening and love and warmth, my gift to You is this promise:

I promise to shine. I promise to spread the simple truth of Your life and salvation. You ARE freedom. You ARE light. Use me. Pour me out until there is no more... for when I shine as the light, it is really YOU in me. It's all I want and need. You. So, I promise this to You.
