oh Christmas.... it's coming... in 59 days. I'm way excited for it and I can't wait. I know, I know. Halloween isn't even over yet, but with this hurricane/nor'easter coming, there won't be many trick-or-treaters out anyway. So, my brain is switch the Thanksgiving, which, to me, really means Christmas is coming REALLY quick! So I've started some snow scene jars that light up and I've made a few Christmas gifts. This week, during the torrential down pours and rain storms, I will be tackling at LEAST 4 more gifts down in my basement. I cannot wait....
I'm picking out the tree this year, so it's not pokey and doesn't die so easily. Patrick's choice always hurts my hands while I string the lights and die before Christmas is over! :) haha.... And, I'm berry picking and ornament making for the tree so it's all vintage and not so obnoxious. HURRAY! It'll be beautiful in the sunroom...
Ecclesiastes has been the book I've been drawn to the past 2 weeks. I must admit, my own personal Bible study gets put on hold way too often, but Jesus spoke to my heart as I read Solomon's words. People say that I am wise, but I know that I have much more to learn. I read his words and found myself begging God for more wisdom... And I was also comforted by the book, though cluttered with the words, "meaningless!" all throughout. Though most of this life IS meaningless. Though most is non-essential silliness.... it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy life, love out spouses, live out love. Solomon says to live life well! Not to sit and waste it.
I'm going to strive for that. for wisdom... for living for Jesus, despite the vanity of this world... to be like Solomon in his desire for wisdom to know what is right and wrong.
And... Christmas is coming. Sweet Jesus' birthday is hastening this way... I can't wait til the sparkle of lights and eyes and even a little snow. All for one big, holy celebration...
