new life...

... yesterday one of the missionary families of the Dominican Republic had a sweet little girl. Her name is Layla Elizabeth. Brand new life always puts hearts into perspective. I went through all the beautiful pictures of their family, and God is so so good. The thing is, He is good every day. If only we could remember that!

God made us all brand new if we are His children, just like a child. He takes our vulnerability and holds us gently until we start to gain confidence in areas. Then, he holds our hands as we start to wander around, until finally we're able to stand and proclaim His greatness to the world.

This year so far, I think I'm learning new things. I'm learning how to stand on two feet in so many areas. I'm so glad that He's holding my hand until I gain ground on His truths. I'm learning that I can't control my world, let alone everyone else's. I'm learning that He heals sick bodies and sustains hearts. He fulfills hopes and grants mercy and grace in so many areas of life.
