one year.

Does it even seem possible that a week from today I married my best friend? No. But, at the same time, does it feel like we've been together for forever? Yes. I love it.

I was just thinking of how wonderful the past year has been. God used 6 months of living with my parents for GOOD! I was stretched, Patrick was loved on. And we emerged better people because of it! I thank God for those months.... and for my parents....

God dropped a house into our laps unexpectedly and beautifully. Thank you Jesus for a sweet farmhouse to rent. I have cleaned and painted and spruced up our little place. It is homey and precious and wonderful. I have baked many good things in the kitchen and left the rest of the house smelling wonderful. I have only burnt one part of a meal and that was this week. Patrick was talking to me about work or some cool car he saw and the bacon decided to burn. ha! Good thing I had more!!

God has taught us plenty. He has used wonderful people in our lives to help us grow and mature into better Christ-followers. Patrick was baptized and hungers for God's Word. I... I have clung to prayer and practicing constant communication with the Lord of my heart. Yes.... this year has been very sweet...

Instead of going away on some grand weekend, we decided to head an hour away for a day trip and use my parent's house (they're away for the weekend, so Patrick is feeding the cows) as our little hotel. :) how fun... I have a mental countdown to the sweet four day weekend that Patrick has off.

I am thankful for us. for our time together. for our lessons learned. for everything...
