it's really almost September.
the leaves have really started to change.
I noticed them this morning while riding in the passenger seat. funny how one notices things when not driving.
goodness gracious, where did summer go? It feels like it only toyed with us, flitting in and out, and then, as fast as a blink, it's gone!
kind of like how fast little pixie-girl has turned into a walking, toddling, jabbering thing.
Oh wow!!! She is of running, dancing, playing (by herself sometimes- miraculously!), and she SPEAKS! She was so focused on moving constantly that she hadn't felt the need to do all the baby jabbering! Now, we "talk" to her babies and the cat and daddy. She chats in her own silly little language and when I try to copy it back, she gives me the cutest smile, suggesting that I just said something fantastic- if only I knew what it was!! I can't believe 13 months has flown by!
She says: dada, mama!, maama (Grandma), dogdog, bow, duck, and her latest word: hot! sometimes I think she is saying yes while she nods her head yes... but it's not clear enough to count. Same with "that"... it comes out when she points... but I'm not sure if it's on purpose.
she meows, moos, growls, tries to trumpet like an elephant, she can "sss" like a snake and she can bark... sometimes.
she is a crazy, wild ball of joy!
I stopped for a moment the other day as I was sitting, trying to put together a grocery list. She went flying by, throwing the faintest, impish smile she could. time felt like it stood still for the tiniest of seconds. Just under 14 months ago I was holding a newborn. Today, I'm watching that same tiny human fly by! I'm not holding her nearly as much, instead I'm watching her learn. She's learning to chat and learning to climb things and run and hide and play with balls! amazing...
it's so wonderful to watch her grow...
I wonder if Jesus feels the way about us when we grow?!
He probably has more love and more awe and more glorious joy! because His is perfect.
I'm so thankful for that love... and for the opportunity to watch this pixie-girl grow!
