my Father's world

So, i have a lot of time on my hands to ponder and wonder and hope right now (it's very freeing). Today, I was packing up stuff in my faithful little room here at school. I was packing all my books, since I only need 2 for exams and such. Let me just tell you that I have more than what I came here with. And... I have no room at home for them (nor the 50 some I already have at home). but, i want to keep most of them. So, you want to know what I want in my house someday? You know those rooms that are in houses in movies all the time? The ones that simply have bookshelves all the way around them? That is what I dream of having someday. If I could just have a little room to put all my books in... in perfect order, it would be amazing. I love books. I got another one today. I have 3 more at home that will be read on the way to the Dominican Republic and during any free time I might catch during the evenings there. Oh to get lost in the stories and grow through Christ-centered wisdom in others... i think i need a bookshelf...

On to worthier topics...

"This is my Father's world; And, to my listening ears, all nature sings and round them rings, the music of the sphere. This is my Father's world I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees; of skies and seas, His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise; the morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world, He shines in all that's fair. in the rustling grass ,I hear Him pass. He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world, oh let me ne'er forget, that though the wrong seems oh so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world, oh the battle is not done. Jesus who died shall be satisfied and earth and heaven be won."

Oh for the sweet truth of that song! Everything around is proclaiming His victory, glory, and sovereignty. The birds have been singing songs, the sky has been hues that no crayon could ever match, and each person around me reflects the power of God. How can I not get distracted by the wonder of it all? Praise God for the miracles that we so often miss!! Life would surely be hopeless without Him! It's my theme song right now... for, this is my Father's world.

a little bit of God's handiwork...
