L.O.V.E.

I was reading this morning. you know, spending time with God and all, and I started flipping through my Bible. I couldn't figure out where I wanted to start reading. But, I ended up in 1 John 5. I needed a reminder of God's love.

"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him." verse 16

God equals love... not just exemplifies love. He IS love. So, on those days when I feel forgotten or like "what is going on here?", I need to remember that God IS love. He always loves me. In Him, there is love. "there is no fear in love." verse 18. so God equals love. If I live in that love, I live in God. And, because of that love, there is no fear.

then, I turned to Psalms. It's one of those days... the soothing Psalms kind of days. Psalm 69 is a Psalm of David. He is pleading with God to hear and answer him. to protect him. to provide for him. it seems like he was so desperate. people hated him. life was overwhelming. so... He cried for God. In the middle he says, "But i pray to you, O Lord; in the time of your favor; in Your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation."

oh how we confuse love with today's definition. God, in HIS TIMING, will provide and sustain us. He will lift us up in our time of need. But, he will lift us up when it's the perfect timing, when He sees that we are being perfected and renewed.

God is love. Love does not fear. David cried to God. God answered.

Praise the Lord for answered prayers and the assurance of forever love.
